Emailing Authors Of Scholarly Journal Articles?
I’m a college student and I will be presenting a report on an article about calendar anomalies in the stock market for my oral exam. Now my question is, would it be ok if I were to email the author(s) of my journal article? I mean, they provide it in the articles but would they entertain questions about it?
I’m really tempted to do that because I have one or two questions about their methods and my exam results depends on my passing my major. However, I’m also afraid that it would be impolite… My professors aren’t exactly helpful.

If they provide an E-mail address, they’re open to people using it. Unless you are unlucky enough to find a rare, giant poo-head, I suspect they would be glad to help a college student along. They were probably all one of those once themselves.
